  • Be human. Managers should treat staff as individuals, by having a flexible approach, being understanding and actively listening to staff and offering help if needed in the way of coaching or counselling.


  • Treat your staff with trust and respect, which will be reciprocated, therefore creating a more productive working environment.


  • A good manager should be able to keep lines of communication open between all staff, so that they are kept up to date with issues, developments and changes.
